St Mary's Cottage is one of our self catering Eastbourne cottages in the wonderful Old Town district. It has been designed and finished to a beautiful standard throughout, a truly charming Victorian terrace.

The property is just a 20 minute walk from Eastbourne town centre. At the top of the road sit two main bus stops with a direct route taking you through Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven and then onto Brighton. Cyclists can gain access to the property through a locked passageway that leads into your garden. The passageway is only accessible to you and your neighbour and therefore offers a good place to lock your bikes.

The property is peacefully located between Motcombe Gardens and St Mary's Church.  There are many close local amenities including the popular Lamb Inn, Spice Gardens, Waitrose and other quaint shops and cafes.

Eastbourne cottages for short lets

The serviced accommodation has been completely refurbished throughout, with new fixtures and fittings. The owners have really captured the balance between modern contemporary decor and a warm practical home. It has two bedrooms sleeping up to four guests, ideal for holiday lettings or a short term lease.

Firstly, downstairs the property has a spacious open plan living/dining area with a large dining table that seats four, a Smart TV and two wall-mounted flame effect fires.

For those that enjoy cooking, the newly installed kitchen in this self catering cottage doesn't disappoint. You have access to an oven, hob, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer, microwave as well as an array of cooking utensils.

As you head upstairs you will first be met by the large family bathroom, in the same way as the rest of the cottage this has brand new modern fittings that fully utilise the space.

Next is the first of the bedrooms, this comprises of two twin beds and a dressing table that sits nicely in front of a large mirror.

At the end of the landing is the second bedroom, this is the spacious master bedroom. A comfy king-size bed, a wall-mounted Smart TV and a dressing table make it the perfect place to unwind.

All linen and regular towels are provided (bring your own beach towels) and for stays longer than a week we will supply a second set. Free WiFi is also included and there is free parking in front of the self catering cottage.

Had the opportunity to visit Eastbourne recently with my sons and was pleased to find St Mary's Cottage available. It is in a great location, easy walk to the seafront and a supermarket and 3 great restaurants nearby. The cottage itself is immaculate and very comfortable, it had everything we needed. We will definitely stay again

Immaculately presented cosy cottage perfect for our break away, a real home from home. Everything was catered for in the house so we could literally arrive and settle in straight away. Very close to local amenities and shops, and only a short drive to Eastbourne pier and waterfront. Fast and reliable contact with Carl and Sarah who were great hosts made the whole experience seamless. Will gladly look to stay here again if we find ourselves back to Eastbourne.

Wirklich wundervoll.
Ein sehr schönes, modern eingerichtetes Haus, es ist liebevoll eingerichtet, man merkt, dass sich jemand viele Gedanken gemacht hat. Es fängt an mit einem Willkommenskorb mit Kaffee und Kakao, gefolgt von einem Kamin, ein schönes Wohn- und Esszimmer, das Badezimmer ist klasse - eine tolle Dusche, wer mag, kann auch baden: wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt,
Die Küche hat auch alles, was benötigt wird. Die Schlafzimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet. Ausreichend Stauraum für die Kleidung ist vorhanden.
Ganz in der Nähe ist ein Pub, Restaurants, unweit gibt es Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Es liegt in einem ruhigen Wohngebiet.
Mit dem Zug ist man in ca. 1,5 Stunden in London. Das Auto stellt man einfach am Bahnhof ab.
Der Pier ist auch wunderschön und lädt zum Schlendern ein.
Wir hatten eine tolle Woche und kommen gerne wieder!

By train you are in about 1.5 hours in London. The car is easy to turn off at the train station.
The pier is also beautiful and invites you to stroll.
We had a great week and like to come back!)

A beautiful cottage in a peaceful location.
St Mary’s is a wonderful modernised Victorian cottage which offers a high-spec contemporary interior.
It is extremely well equipped and lacks nothing.
It is set in the heart of Eastbourne’s Old Town and, backing on to St Mary’s churchyard, is in an extremely peaceful location at the end of a cul-de-sac, which provides effectively private on-street parking immediately outside. It is within just a few minutes of the ancient Lamb pub and a very conveniently placed Waitrose store.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay and would certainly return.

Eine tolle Unterkunft in Old Town. Sauber, bequeme Betten, tolle Küche und dem schönen Sitzplatz mit morgens bis nachmittags Sonne (Juli). Die grosse Dusche mit Glaswand war ein weiteres Highlight. Wir waren sehr glücklich in dieser Unterkunft. Die Anbindung an den öffentlichen Verkehr war sehr gut. Der Supermarkt Waitrose war in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Das haben wir sehr geschätzt. Sarah und Carl machen Ferien zu etwas Besonderem. Vielen Dank!

3 Week Stay in Eastbourne.
Immaculately clean and well maintained, this was a lovely house in a nice part of Old Town Eastbourne.
Convenient location, 15 minute walk into town, we were very happy staying for 3 weeks.

Very pleasant, well situated cottage
St. Mary's Cottage is a very pleasant, well-furnished and well-equipped, terraced house in a quiet cul-de-sac in the Old Town.
Parking was very easy, we always had a space just in front of the house.
The patio at the back gets plenty of sun.
All in all a very comfortable place to stay.

Contact was great from Carl and Sarah.
The property is a spacious 2 bedroom house in the middle of a row of 5 similar houses with a small patio which is a great sunspot in the afternoon.
Never had issues with noise from the neighbours and chatted to the lady at no.2 who was lovely.
Property is as described and photo's are accurate apart from 2nd bedroom which was bigger than expected.
The property is a 20min walk to the train station and a further 10mins to the seafront, however buses run past every 10mins, bus stop is just a minute away outside Waitrose.
We visited numerous towns along the coast and Eastbourne was our favourite by far.
St. Mary's is a fantastic property and we would happily stay their again.

Perfect cottage in old Eastbourne.
Everything about this holiday cottage exceeded expectation.
Lovely and light and spacious and spotlessly clean. sofa and beds really comfy and plenty of wardrobe space.
The cottage has been kitted out with everything you need within the cupboards and all matching and good quality.
There's instant hot water and 2 powerful showers as well as relaxing bath.
The garden is a lovely sun trap and the whole setting is really quiet and peaceful. Parking available in front of cottage.
There's 2 really nice pubs and waitrose within 5 minutes walk.
It's a easy 15min walk through old town to the train station and shops and is well lit at night. Another 5 mins walk to sea front. Buses are every 10 mins from stop by waitrose and 50min journey and £5 fare gets you to Brighton.
I highly recommend this cottage and also booking services of Exclusvley Eastbourne who provide excellent friendly service and unlike the big holiday companies actually pick up the phone!!!!

Stayed for 2 weeks over Christmas.
The cottage was exactly as described.

St Mary's cottage was absolutely beautiful.
Check in was seamless as the host was helpful assisting in an early check in.
Location was excellent with close proximity to the bus stop, train station/town centre/shopping mall and waitrose for easy grocery shopping.
The cottage was much more than I expected and the children loved it.
Nice and modern amenities...a complete package.

Excellent accommodation in great location.
The house is well equipped and spacious.
It was really clean throughout and had plenty of storage.
Situated in the Old Town, the nearby main road hosts bus routes, a supermarket, two pubs and an Indian restaurant.
The property is a 15-20 minute walk to the town centre and railway station, another 5 minutes' walk gets you to the seafront.
Parking was always available right outside the house in the cul-de-sac. The streets around are quite narrow though, with lots of cars parked.

Excellent stay in Eastbourne Old Town.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in 3 Bay Pond Road in Eastbourne Old Town. We were there for the week of the tennis championships. The property was ideal. An easy twenty-five minutes walk to Devonshire Park and a few minutes from bus routes into the centre of Eastbourne. The property was clean, bright, spacious and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom with separate bath and large shower cubicle. We were able to park right outside the front of the house. We enjoyed relaxing with a drink on the paved patio at the rear of the house which was peaceful and is overlooked by the 12th century St Mary's Church. We had good meals at the two nearby restaurants: The Spiced Garden and The Lamb Inn, both only minutes walk away from the property. In conclusion we had a thoroughly good stay and would recommend it.

Amazing stay.
We had a wonderful time at St Mary's Cottage. It is very beautifully presented. The beds are very comfortable and there is an excellent shower. It is a pretty walk through the grounds of the church to an enormous Waitrose. It is about a half hour walk to the coast and an easy drive. It was always a pleasure to come back to the house at the end of the day and it made the holiday very special.

This was a return visit to this lovely house. The house is bright, clean, well equipped, and not cluttered at all. The kitchen is bright and has everything you'd need. Old Town is a lovely area of Eastbourne. We are a family of four, the bedroom set up is perfect for us. There are nice playgrounds in Gildredge Park and the nearby recreation ground (i forget the name). Recommended :)

Enjoyable stay at Eastbourne Old Town
The cottage was easy to view on web site and the rooms and accommodation easy to see, Reality lived up to expectations created by the web site when we actually arrived at the cottage. The cottage was spacious and well provided with equipment. Although there was a car space outside the cottage the road was cluttered due to the many vehicles parked on the surrounding roads. However it was in easy access of restaurants, pubs and supermarket, all nearby, The main shopping centre and sea front was a mile away and easily accessed by foot, car or public transport. We had a lovely holiday and enjoyed Eastbourne and surrounding area.

The house and location were fantastic.
It was in the Old Town and a two minute walk to Waitrose and several pubs which were dog friendly. The bus stop was nearby with a regular service to Eastbourne Town Centre, Brighton and Bexhill. The property was excellent throughout with every amenity and in spotless condition. You could park right outside with no restrictions.

Excellent Property.
St Mary's Cottage is a lovely, spotless property . You can park up outside the house and we never used the car all week. It is a 20 minute walk to the seafront or there are many buses to use in the area. The cottage is in an excellent location to visit Beachy Head, Seven Sisters, Sovereign Harbour, Pevensey, Hastings, Bexhill and Brighton. A short walk through the church grounds takes you to an excellent pub The Lamb and Waitrose.

Another fabulous stay.
Beautifully maintained house in great position behind St Marys Church. Great location - easy walk to town (or quick bus ride), parking right outside house , and regular bus service to Downs should you wish to enjoy the walking in the area. Waitrose and The Lamb pub are a stones throw away! Can’t wait to return.

There is a week-long minimum stay in peak season, although flexible arrival days may be possible out of season.

Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit.   To book requires an immediate, non-refundable £200 deposit per week booked (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival.  For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit.

The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time.  Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes or place in the dishwasher and switch on before you leave.  If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.

The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.

The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence.   It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes.   Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside.   Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
