The Playwright is one of the best self catering flats in central Eastbourne, it's an idyllic two-bedroom apartment in a fantastic central location. It offers a relaxing stay while being only minutes from the beach, town centre and many local amenities.
Eastbourne offers a wealth of experience opportunities with The South Downs National Park, Beachy Head and a six mile stretch of Eastbourne coastline at your front door.
A short car, train or bus ride will also give you access to other locations like Brighton, Hastings and Tunbridge Wells as well as historic sites like Battle Abbey and Pevensey Castle.
The property sits on the second floor of a quiet residential building with only one apartment per floor. The building has a lift providing easy access to the second floor for any one with mobility issues, additionally there is a stairwell for those counting their daily steps.
If you are visiting Eastbourne for work then this apartment is a great base to choose, you can reach any central meeting points by foot, the desk and breakfast bar in the lounge offer a great spot to setup your laptop and there as some delicious restaurants in the surrounding roads for you to entertain any clients or colleagues after a hard days work.
Self catering flats in Eastbourne
Inside the property has a two-bedroom, two-bathroom layout and is ideal for couples or friends wanting a calm oasis. Children age 10 and upwards are permitted if well behaved and will keep noise low as this is a quiet residential block where the residents enjoy their peace.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed with an ensuite shower room and the second bedroom has a double bed. Both bedroom offer access to the rear private balcony which is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee. The family bathroom is off the hallway and has a bath with a handheld shower.
The kitchen/living room is open plan and is a perfect place to relax with a Smart TV (don't forget and full Sky package to include movies and sports. With a breakfast bar and an additional desk this room also has the perfect facilities to setup a laptop and get in some much needed work. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cook and prepare meals, it includes a dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, toaster and for coffee lovers a Nespresso style coffee machine (coffee pods not provided).
The property also includes some nice additional items like books, games and a Bluetooth stereo player for you to enjoy. There is free WiFi throughout so you can scroll the internet to your hearts content. Linen and towels are included (please bring your own beach / swimming towels) and for longer stays, additional linen and towels are provided unless you opt for a midstay clean and linen change (charges apply).
Parking is roadside and the area is a permit zone, however we can provide these permits at just £2 per day.

"Quiet, well equipped and spacious"
We stayed at the Playwright whilst having internal building works carried out. The flat is well equipped and spacious and within a 5 min walk to the town centre and minutes from seafront. What is nice is that there are only 6 flats in the block, one per floor so no disturbance from others and even though the lift backs onto the bedroom it is very quiet and again helped by only being a small number of flats. Carl and Sarah were quick to respond when the washing machine leaked and resulted in a new one being delivered a few days later. They kindly arranged for our washing to be laundered in the meantime. Carl and Sarah are always quick to respond to emails or phone calls when applicable.
Would have no hesitation in using or recommending Carl and Sarah in the future should the need arise.
Home from home.
We moved into the Playwright whilst we were having internal building works carried out.
The property was central to the town centre and was well equipped for what we needed. It was spacious and had the benefit of an en-suite as well as bathroom with bath and shower over.
There is only one flat per floor which is great as there is limited noise from the other residents. It has a lift in order to access the flats.
As it worked well for us, we extended our stay from 2 to 3 weeks. Exclusively Eastbourne were good with communication and responding to us when the needed arose.

Great apartment to spend a few days in Eastbourne. Close to the beach, in a quiet area. Carl and Sarah provided us with information to visit Eastbourne and the surrounding area. They always answer questions that are sent to them quickly and make things easier!

Carl & Sarah’s apartment is a wonderful apartment, it is very stylish, very well equipped and in a fantastic location (one street to beach front and close to supermarkets, shopping centres and eateries). The communications from Carl & Sarah was also very good, any questions answered quickly and very helpful. There is parking available on the street (and we did not have an issue finding a space) although, so close to the amenities that we didn’t need to use our car much. (we also used the train from Eastbourne to Brighton) which was a great day trip. Permits needed for parking but supplied at a very reasonable price by Carl & Sarah (so would recommend). The apartment itself has everything you could need, kitchenware, glasses etc, plenty seating and dining area, and the beds are super comfortable. We would highly recommend staying here, we just loved Eastbourne, you will not regret it x
A fabulous apartment in every respect - even better than I had expected.
Extremely stylish with all mod cons while also offering all home comforts.
It was a real pleasure to have the opportunity to stay there.
Location was ideal too, being just a three-minute walk to the seafront and the wonderful Eastbourne promenade. Some useful local shops and several restaurants are a five-minute walk away.

The place is beautiful and makes you feel at home.
The flat is in a nice place: near the sea, the city centre and good quality cafes.
The flat has everything you need, what was important for us, which happens quite rarely, it was very quiet: no outside noise, you can't hear the neighbors or cars.
Sarah and Carl were very good hosts, we managed to leave behind on accident a couple of expensive stuff and they concerted us about it straight away.

Modern apartment near town centre
Four of us (two couples) enjoyed our stay in this 2nd floor apartment for a week during the tennis championship.
It was only a few minutes walk from both the tennis stadium or the beach/esplanade and ten minutes from the town centre with many options for bars/restaurants.
The apartment is very smart with modern decor and all the appliances you might expect. The building also has a lift.
Bright, airy, spacious, apartment, with easy access to seafront, shops, restaurants, gallery.
The location was is great - just behind the seafront, with lots of lovely sea air blowing in, and a healthy change from central London.
Really convenient for spending time at the sea, going for walks, going to the shops, picking up supplies, picking up takeaway, and just looking around.
Having the Towner art gallery nearby is a huge plus for us too.
Amenities inside the flat were very good and allowed us to cater for ourselves with ease too and to have a relaxing time inside the flat.
The lift to the apartment was extremely valuable, particularly for our mum.
The Exclusively Eastbourne team are extremely helpful and kind, and and were able to answer any queries we had. We hope to visit again.

The beds are super comfy and the shower in the en suite is excellent.
Really pleased with the location as it is so ideally placed to walk to the beach, the restaurants, station, shops and the Towner art gallery and theatres.
We even walked all the way from the apartment, along the seafront, up to the top of Beachy Head, had a meal and walked back down again. Such fantastic views! Do take a trip (or a few) on the sightseeing bus - hop on & off for 24 hours, great fun!

Stayed for 9 days in this very well appointed apartment, very clean and spacious.
Lift to the front door is extremely handy if you have been out all day sightseeing.
Every appliance you need to have a comfortable stay was there. 2 bathrooms was a bonus.
Close to the beach and 5 min walk to the shops and theatres, ideally situated for the non driver.

This property does not accept pets. Smoking is not permitted. Children age 10 and upwards considered if quiet/well behaved as this is a peaceful residential block.
There is a week-long minimum stay and bookings run from Sunday to Sunday basis in peak season, although flexible arrival days and shorter stays may be possible out of season or last minute.
Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 per week booked (the booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.
The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes or load into the dishwasher and switch on. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.
The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.
The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence. It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes. Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside. Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
